Back in the ATL!

My brother called me today and asked where all the stinking blog postings are from last week. It was so crazy last week up in Minnesota, I did not make any postings after my first day up. While busy, all of our work last week went about as smooth as possible -and all of our guests, from Alabama to Australia (not to mention the UK and Ireland) went home happy and satisfied.

Since we had a Saturday morning flight back, my coworker, Bob Petty and I bought last minute tickets for a Twins-Brewers game in the Cities Friday night. It was a good game with the Brewers spanking the Twins. The Twins must have been tired after beating the Braves three games earlier in the week.

Kids gave me the new Traveling Wilburys CD for Father's Day. Called my Dad back in Louisiana today to wish him happy Father's Day and to make sure he got the Braves jersey that I sent him.

Everyone has been asking, "Did you get Paid?" Yes, I did! HR called to tell me week before last that they had asked payroll to keep everything going. So I won a major battle, but the war still rages and I still have to get all this mess settled before next payday. Kaiser's super-duper database indicated that they would be complete with their end of the paperwork on June 15th. Since that was Friday, I am hitting the phones/pavement, and maybe somebody if things are not moving along the way they should.

Had a good time in MN last week. A lot of coworkers dropped by to see how I was doing. That was very nice. And thanks to Lynn and Rich for inviting Bob and I out to their house last week to eat a very good home-grown, grain-fed steak. Now that was cool.

I go to the Endocrinologist on Tuesday (way over at the Kaiser Tucker office at 9am) to work on getting my thyroid levels where they need to be and to schedule the BIG radioactive iodine pill. Not too sure what is going to happen on Tuesday. Dr Hoffman made it sound like they would do some Nuclear Scans to see if there were any BAD cells left in my body after the surgery. Depending on what they find will dictate the intensity of the treatment. It can be anywhere from take this and drink a lot of water to being sequestered for several days at the hospital because of the higher level of radioactivity. I hope it's "take this and we'll see you in six months."

I will let you know how the appointment goes after Tuesday.

Jeff
