I did make it back to work on Monday. I survived, but I sure was tired yesterday evening. It was a wild day (typical for me).
I woke-up yesterday morning to an alarm for the first time in 2-weeks. So I am already out of my morning routine. To further complicate matters, we are keeping a coworker's dog this week while they are on vacation. The dog takes three pills every morning (ironically, one of them is a thyroid pill) that have to be surgically implanted into a doggie treat to trick him into taking them. I gave the dog his medicine, got my stuff together and took off into the morning traffic. As I pulled into the parking lot at the office, I realize that I gave the dog his medicine, but I forgot to take my thyroid pill.
I worked for a couple hours before heading out to Kaiser Glenlake to pick-up my written release to return to work. While there, I talked to someone in records about the problem that I am having between Kaiser and Metlife. This guy said he knew what the problem was. The written Kaiser release that I signed has to be physically attached to the Metlife request for information. They cannot be sent in separately as we have been doing. So I completed my third Kaiser release form, physically attached it to the Metlife request that I had in hand just in case I did find someone at Kaiser to help. The guy time/date stamped the thing and told me I need to allow 7-10 days for the form to be completed and returned to Metlife. Unfortunately, there is no way to track the progress of this form, but I feel like the request and release are actually in the system now and will be processed. The BIG question now is will it happen before next payroll?
I did get some work done yesterday between all the visits from coworkers welcoming me back. It was nice to see everyone again and it was amazing how many people said they were reading the blog. I got home about 4:30 and took my thyroid pill. By that time I was feeling really run-down. I don't know if it was from a full day or not taking my medicine - or both.
I have a follow-up appointment with Dr. Hoffman Wednesday afternoon.
